Police Athletic League Centers

Client: Baltimore County Department of Public Works
Project Scope: Prototypical design for a recreation center operated by the Police Athletic League of Baltimore County. The brick building features a multi-purpose room used for physical activities, an arts and crafts room, a game room, a conference room, and a "Homework Club" with computer stations for homework or tutoring. Offices are included for the police officers who volunteer to staff the center. Each center is located adjacent to a public school to share outdoor athletic facilities. Site design focuses on maximum visibility, creating a secure, safe recreation facility. The prototype design has been built adjacent to the Hillendale, Scotts Branch, Shady Spring, Winfield, Woodmoor, and Mars Estates elementary schools. (Also designed but not built at Reisterstown Elementary School).
Location: Baltimore County, Maryland
