Colimore Thoemke Architects (CTA) has designed hundreds of research, production, teaching, and product training laboratories for a distinguished list of clients in the public, private, and university sectors. Projects ranging from medical research facilities to engineering laboratories; and from Biological Level 3 laboratories to computer laboratories for distance learning have contributed to our understanding of the systemic requirements and Codes associated with specific laboratory types.
A significant portion of our laboratory design experience is with the Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine and some of the leading investigators in university-based biological research. These are most often renovation projects, where older laboratories are re-designed to new state-of-the-art standards.
